Tokyo Banks

 

Tokyo Banks follow the same banking system as most other nations do. There are commercial banks, long

term credit banks, trust banks, mutual loan and savings banks. Other than these there are various other

specialized financial institutions like securities companies, and capital markets.

 

Most banks in Tokyo have a money exchange service for foreigners and visitors to the city. These services

include changing money and travelers' checks. Money may also be exchanged at Post Offices. ATMs

are also available throughout the city to withdraw cash, but the problem here is that most of them have

instructions in Japanese. Many of them also do not accept foreign cards. This makes it a little difficult for

foreigners to find an ATM where they can easily use their cards.

 

Banks in Tokyo open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday. Some banks open for longer hours and some

open on Saturdays as well.
